9 December 2011 | Canada Specialist Event at Hannover Zoo

We are happy that more than 60 participants of our Canada Specialist Program accepted our invitation to the Canada theme world “Yukon Bay” of Hannover Zoo and witnessed our first CSP-Event. The day started with exploring the “Yukon Bay” where howling wolves and playful polar bears live. In the evening a mulled wine to warm up welcomed the guests, followed by interesting presentations of our nine partners (German province representatives and airlines) and by a tasty Canadian buffet with Canadian wine. The highlight was the final raffle with many fantastic material prizes, including two Ipads and a journey to Ontario.

11 July 2011 | 1. TMR Women's Table Football Tournament

Last weekend we hosted our first Women's Table Football Tournament. For the first time only women were allowed to compete and - even worse for the male supporters - men were not allowed to comment on what was happening on the pitch! In the end Sweden won against England in a very impressive manner. Let's see if they have a chance against the male or mixed teams next year during the Euro 2012...

27 June 2011 | Canadian Football Event in Berlin

"Canada - Keep Scoring" was the motto for our Canada team and its guests last weekend in Berlin. We had invited 50 VIPs from the trade trade and the press as well as 22 travel agents to the opening match of the FIFA Women's World Cup in the Olympic Stadium. Germany won 2-1 over Canada, we wore Canada outfits, cheered for all goals and were photographed a million times by German supporters.

12 May 2011 | New Facebook promotion for the Great Lakes

Until the end of June we are promoting our Great Lakes page on Facebook through a little photo competition. Fans are asked to upload a picture of themselves at their favourite lake. The picture with the most "likes" wins a voucher for amazon.de. Die Great Lakes - Das echte Amerika

14 April 2011 | New Canada Specialist Program

A few weeks ago we launched our new worldwide Canada Specialist Program for travel agents. Eight modules help travel agents to improve or refresh their knowledge about Canada. The program will be supported by a high number of fam-tours which are planned for 2011. The first one will bring 10 agents to Québec in June. http://csp-de.canada.travel

Tomorrow the biggest travel trade fair in the world - the ITB in Berlin - will open its doors for trade visitors. At the weekend it will also welcome consumers. 17 January 2011 | Kenya - Partner Country of the CMT

The CMT in Stuttgart opened for the public last Saturday. Kenya is represented by a large delegation and a fascinating stand as the partner land of the exhibition. Beside the tourism Minister Hon. Najib Balala and the dancing group “Safaricats”, also Kenyan coffee and roses for the stand visitors were flown in extra from Kenya. Furthermore we hired the “white Kenyan”, the middle-distance runner and Olympic champion Dieter Baumann as our guest speaker. You can find the stand of Kenya in Hall 2, stand B12 until 23 January.

3 January 2011 | A new Year - and new Faces!

We wish all of you a very happy new year. 365 exciting days are ahead of us and we are looking forward to each and every one of them. Right in time for the new year many new colleagues joined us: Barbara Ackermann (Canada), Nina Brauckmann (Canada) and Cristian Meuter (Jamaica, Nova Scotia) are the latest additions to the TMR team. Dear colleagues, we welcome you to the team and wish you a lot of joy in your new jobs. At the end of the last year our ex-apprentice Sarah Evermann and Verena Deventer (Jamaica) left us. We wish both of you all the best for the future.

15 December 2010 | Canada Event at our offices

Today we started the work for our new client, Canada. Our Kick-Off event took place last night and was a great success. All our guests enjoyed the freshly cooked Canadian and German delicacies as well as interesting conversations.

3 December 2010 | A new website for "our" winery

Right in time for our big wine tasting evening in Mettmann, which will take place tomorrow, we have launched a new website for our client, the Kirsten Winery, today. You can find it here.

16 November 2010 | Our new Client: Canada!

TMR welcomes a new client, namely the second largest country in the world: CANADA! On 15 November it became official that the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) entrusts us with the official representation of Canada in Germany as of mid December 2010. We will work in close co-operation with the new regional CTC office in London. After the CTC had recently decided to close their office in Düsseldorf, we are extremely motivated to continue the CTC’s professional and successful work in Germany. Gabi Romberg, owner and managing director of TMR, is delighted about the newly assigned account: she knows Canada since her youth and has a very special bond with the country.

5 November 2010 | CMT Press Trip to Kenya

In January 2011 Kenya will be the first ever African country partnering at CMT tourism fair in Stuttgart. On this occasion we, together with CMT and supported by KLM, went on a press trip to Kenya last week. With a group of nine persons we spent the first nights in two exclusive camps: “Joy’s Camp” in Shaba and Elsa’s Kopje in Meru. Whether lions, rhinos or elephants, the wildlife in Kenya is beyond words. We continued our journey to Mount Kenya Safari Club, where we got an insight into Kenya’s colonial history while playing golf and watching pheasants in the English Park. At Lake Nakuru we got the chance to observe a lion family with 4 kittens and later came along huge swarms of flamingos. After all this, we got to relax on the beach of Serena Beach Hotel near Mombasa, enjoying the 30°C warm weather in the shadow of palm trees. Finally we had the perfect finale to this exciting trip with a dinner on the Tamarind Dhow and a visit to Fort Jesus.

7 October 2010 | Jamaica on Roadshow in Cologne and Stuttgart

For the client of our subsidiary fastfoward-marketing, the Jamaica Tourist Board, we planned and conducted a roadshow. On 4th October we were in Cologne and continued in Stuttgart the following evening. Travel agents were invited to learn everything essential and interesting about Jamaica in interactive workshops. Sandals, Couples, Secrets, Superclubs, Half Moon, The Palmyra, Island Outpost, Jamaica Inn, Round Hill and Meier's Weltreisen had sent representers who informed 55 Travel Agents in Cologne and 51 Travel Agents in Stuttgart. During workshops and one-on-one talks, expedients could find out everything they seeked to know from the experts. Of the 106 agents, 5 lucky winners of our raffle will travel to Jamaica shortly and post their experienecs and impressions of the island on the German Facebook page JAMAIKA.

5 October 2010 | Congratulations Ms. Bachelor!

Last week our apprentice Sarah successfully took her last exams at Berufsakademie Ravensburg. Sarah, we congratulate you on your successful graduation and wish you all the best for the future. Luckily Sarah will stay at TMR until December, now as an intern. We are happy that we can enjoy her smiles for a little longer.

16 August 2010 | Photoshooting at the Great Lakes

This year the Great Lakes Region is the official destination partner of the photoshooting for the 2011 Miss Tuning Calendar. A team of nine drove through the US states of Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania last week in order to produce the pictures of Miss Tuning Kristin Zippel in various locations which are typical for the region. Top photographer Martin Saumweber managed to get many great shots which will be published in the exclusive calendar in fall 2010. The shooting is an initiative of Messe Friedrichshafen, host of the international tuning fair "Tuning World Bodensee". Below you find a few "making of" pictures.

16 July 2010 | Bye Bye Tobias!

Yesterday was the last day in the office for our colleague Tobias Hannemann. After almost four years working as Account Manager for the Kenya Tourist Board account he left us to seek new challenges in the non-tourism world. Tobias, we enjoyed working with you and wish you all the best for the future.

12 July 2010 | Marketing and PR for the Balearic Islands

Since 1 July 2010 we have been appointed to implement a public relations plan in Germany in order to achieve a greater awareness of the Balearic Islands in its market by implementing numerous communication tools. The short term objective of the plan is to increase the booking numbers for summer and fall 2010. Our network partner at Lotus, Promotourist, has been selected by ATB (Agencia de Turismo de las Islas Baleares, the official tourist board of the Balearic Islands Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera) and we are going to work in co-operation with them. The focus lies on the direct approach of consumers through marketing and PR activities.

9 July 2010 | A new team member at TMR

A new team member answers all consumer and trade queries about Jamaica at the TMR offices since 1 July: Verena Deventer joined the Jamaica team as our new Account Manager. Before joining TMR and its subsidiary fastforward-marketing, Verena used to work for a leading German tour operator. Verena, we wish you a lot of joy in your new job and welcome you to our team.

6 July 2010 | Lotus Network Summer Meeting

From 2 to 4 July we participated in the Lotus Network Summer Meeting for the first time. The meeting took place in Paris this year. Fantastic weather and excellent food supported the creative exchange between all members. Next year the Mosselle region and the delicious wine from Kirsten Winery will do their best, when the network members are going to meet in Germany from 16 to 18 July 2011.

14 June 2010 | Brazil won the world cup!

Olé Olé! The team from Klüsserath in Brazil, 2nd in 2008, won the 3rd TMR table football tournament last Saturday ahead of Serbia and South Africa's "Bafana Bafana". 16 teams of TMR staff, friends and neighbours competed in the tournament with a lot of fighting spirit and laughter. It was so much fun, we are already looking forward to the next event in 2012. Have a great world cup everybody!

11 June 2010 | Press Trip to Paradise

We took five journalists from Germany and Austria to the British Virgin Islands last week. The highlights of the trip that was conducted in cooperation with Master Yachting Germany were the BVI Music Fest, a meet and greet with the famous "Foxy" and a delicious lobster on Anegada.

We discovered the islands with a Dream Yacht Catana 50. Two nights were spent in legendary Bitter End Yacht Club and in the brand new Scrub Island Resort. The biggest highlight, however, was a bath at Devil's Bay and "The Baths" in the pouring rain. A very rare way to discover the most spectacular beach of the BVI.

6 May 2010 | Nonstop from Berlin to Mombasa

New nonstop flight to Kenya: Air Berlin's winter schedule now also includes one nonstop flight per week from Berlin Tegel to Mombasa. Of course, the flights from Dusseldorf and Munich are also still in the schedule. Kenya is already looking forward to receiving numerous guests from the German capital!

15 April 2010 | A new client for our PR team!

The South Seas are calling! From 1 May 2010 we will be responsible for the German PR of Aranui Cruises, the "Freighter to Paradise". Aranui 3 is a combined freight and cruise ship that connects Tahiti and the Society Islands with the most off the beaten path archipelago of French Polynesia, the Marquesas. The Marquesas’ six inhabited islands are so remote that the Aranui 3 is their lifeline to the outside world, bringing supplies and picking up copra, dried coconut and noni fruit.

2 April 2010 | We are Lotus

Exciting times ahead! We have recently joined the Lotus Network. Lotus is a network of communication agencies in Europe that offer 360° service to clients in the tourism industry. We are looking forward to working in a team with our new partner agencies. The new network website will be launched soon. We will inform you as soon as it will be finished.

16 March 2010 | A new Promotion for Nova Scotia

Together with Condor and FlyHalifax.com we launched a new promotional campaign for Nova Scotia today. Travelers who book a Condor flight to Halifax, Nova Scotia will receive a free voucher for a whalewatching tour this summer. The campaign and website were developed entirely by TMR. They get promoted through newsletters, PR work and banners on appropriate websites. You find the dedicated microsite here: www.fliegen-nach-wal.de.

15 March 2010 | Another successful ITB is over

We are looking back on a very successful ITB for our partners and our agency.

On a grey Saturday morning we welcomed nearly 100 interested journalists to our annual press breakfast on the TV tower on the fairground. The views were nothing to write articles about - but the partners were. We welcomed representatives of 15 destinations, with the Ruhr area - European Capital of Culture 2010 - there was a German destination among them for the first time in 11 years.

Our clients received quite a few prizes during ITB: Together with Blue Planet TV, the British Virgin Islands won the CTO media award for the best TV production featuring a Caribbean destination for "Das sind meine British Virgin Islands", an n-tv production. In the same award ceremony Jamaica, client of our subsidiary fastforward-marketing, won the price for the best printed article and the overall price for "Jamaica auf die Schnelle" by journalist Björn Erik Sass.

Jamaica was also successful in the competition "The Golden City-Gate" - the international film award of ITB. Their promotional video featuring world record sprinter Usain Bolt was awarded the first price in the "TV and cinema spot" category. Our client Kenya took home the bronze medal in the same category for their colourful "Jambo" spot. Congratulations to everybody involved in these productions.

27 August 2009 | TMR wins Athletics World Championships

TMR is the king of athletics! In Berlin, our customers took the first three ranks of the 12th IAAF Athletics World Championships' medal count. The USA, which we represent - although not nation-wide - with the Great Lakes and Floridas Northeast, are the leading nation with 10 gold medals, ahead of Jamaica as customer of our subsidiary fastforward-marketing with 7 and Kenya with 4 gold medals, respectively. After the great success of the countries represented by our company, our managing director Gabi Romberg can only fully agree with Usain Bolt's motto: "Ich bin ein Berlino!"

26 May 2009 | Caribbean Cooking Roadshow

For the 5th year in a row the BVI Tourist Board went on a road show together with the colleagues from Antigua & Barbuda and Grenada in order to inform travel agents about their wonderful Caribbean islands. This year we organized a cooking event for the first time. The visitors loved the idea. They didn't only hear about the islands but also about the local Caribbean cuisine. The road show events took place in Haralds Kochschule in Hamburg, Kochschule Mirko Reeh in Frankfurt, in the Kochschule in Köln and in La Cucina in Hamburg. In Hamburg we also invited the press for a press breakfast.

5 May 2009 | Miss Tuning is looking forward to the BVI

Martina Ivezaj from Bavaria is the new MISS TUNING. Last weekend she was elected at TUNING WORLD BODENSEE fair. The BVI Tourist Board is one of the sponsors for this beauty competition and awarded the new Miss with a fantastic price: A photoshoot on the BVI with Caribbean sunshine and fancy cars. In July and August Miss Tuning will travel to the BVI along with her stylists, photographers and a camera team. We wish her a fantastic trip and a year full of unforgettable memories.
